The Trophy Bassmasters held its second club tournament of 2018 at Grand Lake St. Marys recently with very meager results. Fifteen anglers spent an 8-hour day on the big inland lake and could only muster six keepers and 8.55 pounds total for the day.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — In her time at Riverdale, Brittany Hayter has taken notice of the school’s team atmosphere and camaraderie among her fellow teachers. Brittany is nearing the end of her first year instructing high school intervention with Brett Smalley, with the two splitting classes for inclusion.

Hardin County’s Teenagers of the Year were announced by the Kenton Elks during a dinner at the lodge on Sunday evening. They are (from left) Alexandra Haushalter of Kenton High School and Sean Hurley of Upper Scioto Valley. Both will be awarded $1,000 scholarships.

ADA — The Kenton girls were third and the Wildcat boys were fourth to lead area teams at the 16-school Ada Invitational on Saturday. Led by Lauren Johnson’s first place throw of 131-1 in the discus, the Lady Wildcats finished with 75 points. Van Wert won the meet with 115 points.

Ellery Maze of Peacock Water has successfully completed the professional service seminar at Kinetico’s Service Academy, the training arm of Kinetico Incorporated, Newbury, Ohio. Maze, along with other service professionals working for dealerships across the country, participated in this intensive service training seminar conducted by Kinetico, a manufacturer of non-electric, metered, demand operated, twin tank water processing equipment.

The Benjamin Logan High School forensic class was given an investigative training case by Bellefontaine Police Department detectives Dwight Salyer, Phillip Bailey, and Blake Kenner on Monday, April 29 to practice their investigation skills.

The Ada Kiwanis and Ada Rotary clubs held their weekly meeting on Tuesday, May 1 at noon in the Wishing Well in McIntosh Center of the Ohio Northern University. Thirty-five members and guests were in attendance.
