DOLA — Jessica Cano’s Art II class at Hardin Northern recently participated in the Paint the Plow project sponsored by the Ohio Department of Transportation. The program is designed to be a way for students and community to connect.

Facing a one-run deficit to Van Buren, Kenton rallied to put three runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the 7-6 non-league baseball victory on Friday. The Black Knights took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the Wildcats evened things up two innings later.

The FFA chapter at Hardin Northern took advantage of the sunshine early in the week by hosting an Ag Day on April 30 for the kindergartners through sixth graders of the HN Elementary School.

Linda (Yingling) and Charles “Rick” Digman of Kenton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married May 4, 1968 in Muncie, Ind.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Quiz Bowl team has earned many titles and honors in recent years. This season it has won both the Hardin and Hancock county tournaments, competed in the WNWO Academic Challenge and the WBGU tournament.

Hardin Northern's pop a cappella group Awakened Commotion will be in concert Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in the Hardin Northern auditorium. Admission is $2.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Ridgemont FFA has won the top chapter in Ohio title five times. Members are leaving today with more state qualifiers competing at the state convention than in any other time in its history with hopes of being named the top chapter in the state for the sixth time.

The intersection of E. Columbus and Hester streets in Kenton was the scene of a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Information on the accident was unavailable from the Kenton Police Department at press time.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley senior Megan Carey will be looking to score points for Otterbein University’s track and field team next season. Carey signed her letter of intent to attend the Westerville-based university on Wednesday afternoon.
