David and Jean Kah of Kenton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married on Nov. 25, 1967 in Wapakoneta, where David is from.

The Ohio Knit Wits have had a yearlong group project of knitting dish cloths and face cloths for worthy causes. At their Nov. 14 meeting the knitters boxed up the dish cloths and small bottles of dish soap which they purchased from Kroger to deliver them to the St Anthony’s Center for local distribution later this month.

The Hardin County Retired Teachers Association met on Friday, Nov. 17 at noon at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton. President Joyce Hubbell welcomed 22 members and guest B.J. Woodruff, ORTA District 2 Director.

The Hardin County Pomona Grange met on Nov. 18 at McDonald Grange with President Jean Osborn presiding. The opening song was “This is My Father’s World.”

Roger and Julie Crowe prepare to install a string of colorful lights along the driveway of the Lake of Lights display at Kenton’s Saulisberry Park. The annual event will open tonight at 6 p.m.

Friends of the Alger Public Library held their Second Expression Literary Art Show and Sale, bringing together a showcase of Hardin County’s finest for an Evening of the Arts. This event is held annually on the first Saturday of November as a fundraiser for the Alger Public Library and a means to encourage and support the arts in Hardin County.

On your way to Ada or on your way back home to Kenton, stop by the best little cabin in the county, Chris’ Country Cabin, just south of Ohio 309 on Township Road 115. It will be one of the stops on the Candy Cane Tour of Homes, set for Sunday, Dec. 3 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Donna Woltz Dyer brings her grandchildren in to visit with the residents at Hardin Hills Health and Rehab Center and they have made a huge impact in residents’ lives.

The Hardin County Council on Aging Senior Center held a party celebrating National Pickle Day. They ate a lot of pickles.

The Dunkirk Girl Scouts were entertained at a recent Halloween party by the work of one of their members. Sydney Byers, a Daisy Girl Scout, made a special game board with the help of her mother.
