DUNKIRK — The 10th annual “Night in Bethlehem” is planned next weekend at Camp Common Ground in Dunkirk. An interactive, hands-on recreation of ancient Bethlehem, it will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

Last spring, Seth Davis was looking for someone to job-shadow. At that time, he was an eighth-grader at Ridgemont and was hoping to find someone to show him the advantages of a career in maintenance. He turned to Dave Manns and that choice has changed his life.

‘Magic in the Snow’ is this year’s theme of Hardin Memorial Hospital Foundation’s largest fundraiser, the Mistletoe Ball. The black tie optional event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Hardin County Armory in Kenton beginning at 7:30 p.m.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Trophy Bassmasters bass club held its annual awards banquet on recently at The Plaza Inn. Following a buffet meal, outgoing President Don Kraft presented John Clark and Boyd Downey with the 2016 Angler of the Year title as they tied for the trophy with 295 points each.

In the end, the race for the Jan. 3 Hardin County commissioner’s seat was decided by just two votes. The board of elections met today starting at 2 p.m. and at 4:45 p.m. announced the results of the tally.

Five Kenton Elementary Students gave a display of their leadership skills at Monday’s Kenton Board of Education meeting. The Leader in Me program is a building-wide initiative that “enables educators to unleash each child’s full potential,” said Principal Robin Bame.
