Upper Scioto Valley senior Gavin Boehm didn’t take the traditional approach toward earning a college athletic scholarship. Despite not competing for a high school team, Boehm recently signed a letter of intent to bowl for the University of Northwestern Ohio.

The Riverdale FFA Chapter held its annual Harvest Day. Two rotations were held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Second- and third-graders were in the morning, and kindergarteners and first graders were in the afternoon.

In recent months, John and Kriss Brien’s Peck-N-Coop Farm offered homegrown meats and eggs to local customers, but the couple’s focus is shifting to growing the farm values of hard work, responsibility and discipline in young men who are lacking those qualities.
