Kenton’s defense had no answer for St. Marys running backs Eric Spicer and Julius Fisher as the duo combined for 350 yards and four rushing touchdowns to lead the Roughriders to a 58-14 rout of the Wildcats in Western Buckeye League action Friday night.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale used a stifling defense and a quick-strike offense to blow out Vanlue on Friday night in Blanchard Valley Conference football.

For the first time in more than 150 years, Hardin County will have a representative on the Ohio Republican Central Committee. Robert Radway of rural Belle Center has been named to represent District I on the central committee to replace Ryan Hite, who is moving out of the district.

The Kenton boys soccer team physically out-matched its opponent Thursday night, overwhelming Marion Harding in a 13-0 non-conference win. The Wildcats’ 13 goals came from eight different scorers, including hat tricks from Landon Bartlett and Hayden Hicks, and a brace from Drew Hoppe. The team tallied 37 shots, 25 on goal.

DOLA — Hardin Northern didn’t quite play with the consistency Polar Bear volleyball coach Erika Uitto was looking for against Ridgemont on Thursday night. But the Polar Bears got the job done when it mattered on the way to a 25-21, 25-17, 25-11 Northwest Central Conference win over their Hardin County foe.

BELLEFONTAINE — After having to come from behind and win in five sets on both Monday and Tuesday, the Ben Logan volleyball team was hoping for a slightly easier contest Thursday night.

RIDGEWAY — Meadow, Callie and Jon Cromer have been missing several days of school this week. They haven’t been sick. They are working on the family farm south of Ridgeway. But they are not milking the herd of dairy cows, cleaning out barns or doing their normal chores.

During the months of August and September, various Ben Logan FFA students have engaged in activities and poster making to learn the proper way to handle, check, and manage a tractor. Students were taught the possible risk factors and the many ways an injury can occur.
