The Kenton High School class of 1945 met at Henry’s Restaurant on July 16 to celebrate its 71st year since graduating. There were 13 class members and four guests in attendance.

Despite the hot weather, a large crowd gathered at the park for a day of activities, food and fun.

As soon as Rev. Tomas Pistora came to Kenton’s Trinity United Presbyterian Church in 2003, he knew he’d joined a community that embraces everyone. Pistora was asked by Trinity to be its pastor while he was working for a presbytery in Toledo. Because he is originally from the Czech Republic and not Ohio, it signaled to him that the church was a welcoming one.

ALGER — Motorists traveling past the small chapel on County Road 110 within eyesight of Ohio 235 will notice the quaint building of worship in the woods beside the home of Mark Lowery.

Two out of every three people diagnosed with cancer today are survivors. “We’re celebrating more birthdays,” said Heather Wedertz, chair of the 11th Hardin County Relay For Life which began Friday evening and was set to end about 8 a.m. today.

Throughout her short life, Christa Gayhart strived to help others. As she reached out to them, however, the Kenton woman’s ability to touch them was reduced by her own limitations.

Hardin County Deputy Joe Carl stands with a horse which was found roaming the fields of the county Thursday morning north of Kenton in Pleasant Township. As of this morning no one had claimed the steed.
