KHS grapplers end season at DII district

NORWALK — Kenton’s Noah Eikenbary and Mason Rhoades both won matches as the Kenton wrestling team finished 2-5 in the Division II district wrestling tournament at Norwalk High School this past weekend. Eikenbary, wrestling in the 195-pound class, won his first round match over St. Marys’ Austin Giesige 2-1.

Riverdale wrestlers fall in Division III district

DEFIANCE — The three Riverdale wrestlers had a rough day at the Division III district wrestling tournament at Defiance High School on Friday, dropping all six of the matches in which they competed. The Falcons’ Ethan Hayes was pinned by Oak Harbor’s Jake Sage in 35 seconds in the opening round and by Archbold’s Gibson Burkholder in 39 seconds in the consolation bracket.

LIMA — With two of their best players sidelined with three fouls early in the second quarter, the Upper Scioto Valley Rams faced an uphill battle against New Bremen in Friday night’s Division IV boys basketball sectional final. The No. 3 seeded Rams were outscored 14-3 in the second quarter and trailed 33-16 at the half, and things did not improve for them in the second half as the Cardinals offense hit their full stride, handing their opponent a 72-35 loss and ending their season early.
