ONU women make quick work of ‘Berg

ADA — The No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team saw four athletes score in double-figures as the Polar Bears defeated Heidelberg 90-44 at the ONU Sports Center on Wednesday evening. The Polar Bears improve to 20-2 overall and 14-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes fall to 4-18, 2-13.

TIFFIN — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and held off a late charge to win 74-67 at Heidelberg on Wednesday evening at Seiberling Gymnasium. The Polar Bears improve to 16-6 overall and remain in the hunt for an Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title with an 11-4 record, while the Student Princes move to 9-13, 5-10.

BELLEFONTAINE — Indian Lake overcame a slow start with strong second and fourth quarters to pull away for a 61-49 victory over Ben Logan in a Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball matchup on Tuesday night. The Raiders jumped ahead 17-9 after eight minutes before Indian Lake rallied with a 24-11 second quarter advantage to grab a 33-28 lead at the intermission.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — A big second quarter was the spark for Arlington as the Red Devils defeated Riverdale 76-61 in Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball action on Tuesday night. Leading 16-15 eight minutes into the game, the Red Devils outscored Riverdale 22-8 in the second quarter to take a 38-23 lead into halftime.

Slow starts hurts HN in loss to Monroeville

MONROEVILLE — Monroeville took an early lead and then held off Hardin Northern the rest of the way for a 46-35 non-conference girls basketball victory on Tuesday night. The host Eagles jumped ahead 16-6 eight minutes into the game and held a 24-16 halftime lead before putting some space between themselves and the Polar Bears with an 11-6 third quarter advantage.
