ADA — After a 3-6 start to the season, the Ridgemont girls basketball team won its seventh straight game on Monday night, blowing past Ada 77-37 in a non-league contest. But it wasn’t the score or winning streak that Gopher coach Tim Weyant was pleased with.

Hardin Northern senior Madison Robson signed a letter of intent on Monday to continue her education and play volleyball and softball at Miami University Hamilton.

The Black team defeated the White team in Masonic Pool Tournament play on Thursday. The White team now leads the tournament by 27 points.

MOUNT VICTORY — The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery Sunday night at the Mt. Victory Drive Thru. According to a press release from Sheriff Keith Everhart, at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, a white male pulled a black pistol on a clerk at the business, but did not discharge the weapon.

Kenton sharpshooter Jaron Sharp had trouble finding his touch during the Wildcats game against Tiffin Columbian on Saturday night. However, the Wildcat junior came through when his team needed him the most, scoring the go-ahead basket off a feed from Jayden Cornell with five seconds left as the Wildcats rallied for a 52-51 non-league boys basketball victory.

ADA — Following a slow first quarter that saw Hardin Northern ahead 12-6 at one point, the host Ada Bulldogs came out with energy in the second quarter and outscored the Polar Bears 17-6. A 30-point third quarter for Ada – nearly matching its total from Friday’s game against Crestview – sealed the 76-43 non-conference boys basketball win for the Bulldogs.

McGUFFEY — Arlington outscored Upper Scioto Valley in all four quarters on the way to a 74-34 victory over host Rams in a non-league girls basketball game on Saturday. The Red Devils jumped ahead 12-1 five minutes into the game and led 14-4 after eight minutes.

RICHWOOD — Led by Noah Eikenbary’s first place finish at 195 pounds, the Kenton wrestling team finished sixth out of 17 teams at the North Union Don Wasserbeck Classic on Saturday. Eikenbary, who was the top seed at 195 pounds, won all five of his matches including a 6-1 decision over Marysville’s Jager Snider in the championship bout. He finished with three pins.

SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan took control with an 18-3 first quarter run and never looked back on the way to a 59-23 victory over Springfield Northwestern in Central Buckeye Conference girls basketball action on Saturday. Nikki Current had 26 points and 10 steals to lead the Raiders, who pushed their lead to 29-8 by halftime and 41-15 after three quarters.
