Ben Logan to induct two into athletic HOF

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan will be inducting a former three-sport star and a longtime supporter of the district’s athletic teams into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday night. Being inducted are 1972 graduate Doug Titus and lifelong district resident and supporter Jack LeVan.

Burger, Bruns pace Polar Bears in victory

BEREA — Nate Burger netted 27 points and Ryan Bruns added 23 points to help the Ohio Northern men's basketball team grab an 80-73 victory over No. 25-ranked Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday evening at Ursprung Gymnasium. The Polar Bears move to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 11-3, 5-2.

ONU women get past BW 61-55 in overtime

ADA — Amy Bullimore and Jenna Dirksen led the charge offensively as the No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team defeated Baldwin Wallace 61-55 in overtime on Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center. With their 13th consecutive victory, the Polar Bears move to 13-1 overall and remain perfect in Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 7-0 mark.

Conference games highlight hoop slate

A nearly full slate of high school boys basketball action is on tap for Friday night, including home league games for area schools Kenton, Ben Logan, Upper Scioto Valley and Hardin Northern. In Kenton, the Wildcats look for their second win in a row and to improve to 2-1 in WBL play when they host Wapakoneta in a Western Buckeye League battle.

Cory-Rawson slows down Hardin Northern

RAWSON —Host Cory-Rawson held Hardin Northern to seven points in the first three quarters on the way to a 41-18 win over the Polar Bears in non-league girls basketball action on Tuesday night. The Hornets jumped ahead 13-2 after eight minutes and led 15-4 at halftime before putting the game out of reach with a 16-3 third quarter run.
