BL girls bowling victorious

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan girls bowling team defeated Urbana 2,270-2,106 on Tuesday afternoon. Leading the Lady Raiders was Tayler Bryant with a high game of 198 and a series of 346, Kaylee Nicholas added a 191 (345 series) and Erica Warne a 181 (337 series).

ONU women move up to No. 10 in DIII poll

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team cracked the top 10 in the sixth weekly D3Hoops.com poll after jumping four spots to No. 10 in the coaches poll. Since falling in their season-opener, the Polar Bears (12-1 overall, 6-0 OAC) have won 12 straight, including handing undefeated and nationally-ranked Marietta its first loss of the season.

Youth wrestling: January 9, 2018

The Kenton Youth Wrestling Team traveled to Xenia on Sunday to wrestle teams in the Dayton area. Wrestlers competed against kids from Greenon, Chaminade-Julinne, Oakwood, Carroll, Franklin, Trotwood Madison, Graham, Middletown and Stebbins.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley hit nine three-pointers against Benjamin Logan on Saturday night with six of them coming in the first quarter to put the visiting Raiders in an early hole they could never quite dig out of. The Rams went on to earn their fifth-straight win, taking down Ben Logan 60-51 to improve their record to 8-2 on the season.

Wildcats hold off Delphos Jefferson, 61-53

Delphos Jefferson used its pressure to cut a 10-point Kenton advantage to two points with 1:30 left in Saturday’s boys basketball contest between the two opposing Wildcats. Kenton was finally able to beat the press and in the process get a couple baskets on layups and also get to the foul line as the host Wildcats pulled away for a 61-53 win in the non-league tilt.

Current has 14 steals in Lady Raider’s win

LEWISTOWN — Nikki Current had a school-record 14 steals to go along with 33 points as Ben Logan pulled away for a 60-36 victory over Indian Lake in a Central Buckeye Conference girls basketball game on Saturday. The Raiders, who improved to 9-5 with their seventh straight win, led 15-11 after eight minutes before pulling away with a 17-4 advantage in the second quarter.
