Gopher boys fall to Parkway

ROCKFORD — Parkway defeated Ridgemont 88-50 on Thursday in the semifinals of the Parkway Holiday Tournament. Jayden Street had 25 points to lead the Gophers, who fall to 0-8 on the season. Ridgemont plays G.C. Christian in the consolation game at 4:40 p.m. today.

Kenton soccer, Ada volleyball successes top area in 2017

Three-peat

While there were no state titles in 2017, Hardin County teams and individual athletes still shined throughout the year. Highlighting area teams in the county in 2017 were the Kenton boys soccer and the Ada volleyball teams. The Wildcat boys, playing their season in honor of deceases teammate Layton Rogers, had the most successful season in school history, finishing at 16-2-1 and at second in the WBL and in the district, losing only to regional runner-up Elida.

BL girls top Elgin for 2nd time this season

BELLEFONTAINE — For the second time in two games this season the Ben Logan girls basketball team got off to a quick start against Elgin before holding on in the second half for the victory on Wednesday night. The winning margin was a little more comfortable this time as the Raiders built a 15-point lead by halftime on the way to the 63-50 victory.

Lady Raiders run past USV, 85-45

Inside battle

MCGUFFEY — Ben Logan used its pressure to spark a quick start and the Raiders never looked back on the way to an 85-45 victory over Upper Scioto Valley in a non-league girls basketball game on Saturday. Led by Nikki Current’s 24 point and 9 rebounds, the Raiders opened with a 13-0 run in the first two minutes of the game.
