In the Monday Fall League at Memorial Park Golf Course, the team of Nick Zachariah, Spencer Vermillion, Duane Spencer, Bob Walls and Paige Wallace leads the way with a 33 under par. The team of John McEntee, Dean Brim, Wayne Moon, Mike Wood and Jeff Butcher is second at 32 under par and the quintet of Brad Hanna, Mike Fink, Steve Benson and Joni Rensing is third at 31-under.

Wildcats rally, but fall short against in shootout with Elida

ELIDA — After falling behind 21-0 in the first quarter, the Kenton football team made play after play after play to put itself in a position for a victory in the fourth quarter on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, after they took the lead, quarterback Isaac McAdams regained his form guiding the Bulldogs on the go-ahead touchdown lead and their defense shut down Kenton’s offense in the final two minutes as Elida pulled out a 51-50 victory over Kenton.

Urbana knocks off Raiders

BELLEFONTAINE — Benjamin Logan looked set to take an 8-7 lead into halftime against Urbana on Friday night, but a last-second 47-yard touchdown pass from the Hillclimbers changed that. First ruled incomplete, the call was changed to a touchdown as time in the half expired.

Van Buren outscored Falcons 34-19

VAN BUREN — Riverdale gave Van Buren its best shot on Friday night in a Blanchard Valley Conference football game, but the Falcons could not stop Van Buren defensively en route to a 34-19 loss. Riverdale (5-4, 3-4 BVC) marched down the field on its opening drive with a steady diet of senior running back Aidan Loveridge.

Polar Bears hold on for win over W-G

DOLA — Hardin Northern shut out Waynesfield-Goshen in the first half to hold a 21-0 lead in Friday’s Northwest Central Conference match-up. The Tigers came on strong late in the fourth quarter, scoring twice in less than a minute with under three minutes to go, but the Polar Bears held them off for the 27-20 victory.

Elgin outscores USV

MARION — Upper Scioto Valley scored 34 second-quarter points against Elgin to take a 34-28 halftime lead in Friday night’s Northwest Central Conference contest. But the Rams’ offense was shut down in the second half, while the Comets added 28 points to take the 56-34 victory.

Fast start propels Ada

ADA — After jumping out to a 13-0 first quarter lead, the Ada Bulldogs were able to hold off Bluffton on Friday night to take the 42-17 Northwest Conference win. The Bulldogs improve to 6-3 overall, 4-2 in the NWC with the victory. Bluffton drops to 3-6, 2-4.
