KHS spikers fall to Van Wert

The Kenton volleyball team could not pick up that elusive Western Buckeye League volleyball victory on Thursday. The Wildcats were competitive against Van Wert and even held a 19-13 lead in game two, before falling in straight sets to the Cougars 25-14, 28-26, 25-20.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan No. 2 defeated West Liberty No. 2 by a 6-3 score in Logan County junior high soccer action on Thursday. Rhea Harner scored 2 goals, and Brooks Myers, Maddy Plikerd, Graham Studebaker and Michael Rostefer each had a goal each had a goal to lead Ben Logan.

COLUMBUS — The Kenton boys soccer team made the most out of its trip to Columbus Crew’s stadium to play Graham on Thursday as they blasted the Falcons 5-0 in the non-league match. Drew Hoppe had two goals and Landon Bartlett, Cobe Heydinger and Luke Woodruff added one tally each for the Wildcats, who improve to 11-0-1 on the season.

Pair of Lady Wildcats move on to second day of WBL tennis tourney

LIMA — The Kenton tennis team had a pair of girls advance to the second day of the Western Buckeye League tournament on Thursday. Kenton’s No. 3 singles player, Kelsey Flowers, will play for fifth place on Saturday after splitting her opening two matches, while No. 1 singles player, Mykaela Schriber, will play for seventh after dropping a pair of matches.
