Wyss scores career high 14 to pace ONU women

WILMINGTON — Junior Tori Wyss and senior Amy Bullimore led the No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern University women's basketball team to a 65-44 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night at Raizk Arena. The Polar Bears, who have won six straight, improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Triad rallies past Lady Gophers in 2nd half

MOUNT VICTORY — Triad rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Ridgemont 60-54 in a non-league girls basketball game on Tuesday night. The Gophers, who fall to 2-3 on the season, led 17-15 after eight minutes and 31-23 at halftime before Triad outscored them 37-23 in the second half.

Fast start carries L-B to win over lady Rams

FINDLAY — Liberty-Benton got off to a quick start, outscoring Upper Scioto Valley 30-9 in the first quarter on the way to an 80-29 rout of the Rams in non-conference girls basketball action on Tuesday night. The Eagles, who were led by sophomore post Caitlin Elseser’s 19 points and 15 rebounds, extended their advantage to 52-15 by halftime and 69-18 after three quarters in improving to 3-0 on the season.

Raider bowlers split

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan bowling teams split a pair of matches with Springfield Northwestern on Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders were victorious 2,027-1,962, Erica Warne rolled a 210 and a 175 and Tayler Bryant threw a 191 game to lead the Raiders.

Springfield holds off Lady Raiders, 54-52

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan’s Nikki Current scored 35 points and had a school record 12 steals, but it wasn’t enough as Springfield edged the Raiders 54-52 in girls basketball action on Monday night. Trailing 13-10 after one quarter, the visiting Wildcats took control with a 22-11 advantage in the second quarter.

Beaschler, Katayama lead Ada swim teams

JAY COUNTY, Ind. — Ada swimmers Zach Beaschler and Klava Katayama had strong days to lead the Bulldogs at the Celina Waterdogs Sprint meet on Saturday. Beaschler recorded top six finishes in all four events he swam, while Katayama was in the top four in three of her four events.
