Springfield holds off Lady Raiders, 54-52

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan’s Nikki Current scored 35 points and had a school record 12 steals, but it wasn’t enough as Springfield edged the Raiders 54-52 in girls basketball action on Monday night. Trailing 13-10 after one quarter, the visiting Wildcats took control with a 22-11 advantage in the second quarter.

Beaschler, Katayama lead Ada swim teams

JAY COUNTY, Ind. — Ada swimmers Zach Beaschler and Klava Katayama had strong days to lead the Bulldogs at the Celina Waterdogs Sprint meet on Saturday. Beaschler recorded top six finishes in all four events he swam, while Katayama was in the top four in three of her four events.

BELLEFONTAINE — About the best thing Kenton coach Ryan Miller could say immediately after his Lady Wildcats’ 59-52 win over Ben Logan on Saturday was that it was a victory. That’s because after jumping ahead of the host Raiders by 10 points five minutes into the game, the Wildcats were never quite able to put the game out of reach as the Raiders stayed within striking distance until the final buzzer.
