Cramer leads ONU past Case Western

ADA — Senior Courtney Cramer poured in a career-high 21 points to the lead the No. 15-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team to an 88-49 victory over Case Western Reserve in the 2017-18 home-opener at the ONU Sports Center on Wednesday evening.

KHS swim teams split dual meet with Elida

The Kenton High School swim teams split a dual meet with Elida on Tuesday night as the Wildcats girls won 90-61 and the boys were edged 82-68. Winning individual events for the Lady Wildcats were Elaina Schaub in the 200 individual medley (2:51.88) and the 100 freestyle (1:07.26), Morgan Kohl in the 50 free (28.93 seconds), Haley Hunt in the 100 butterfly (1:36.16), Olivia Hattery in the 500 free (7:32.30) and Alexis Grubbs in the 100 breaststroke (1:31.56).

BL bowling tops R’side

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan boys and girls bowling teams defeated Riverside on Wednesday night. The Raider boys won 2,074-1,657. Zach Barnes had games of 169 and 171 and Daulton Shields added games of 158 and 175 to lead the Raiders.

McGUFFEY — A 21-point halftime deficit proved too much for the Upper Scioto Valley girls basketball team, which fell to Bluffton 71-49 on Tuesday night. With just one full-time returning starter in Kaycee Carroll and several new faces in starting roles for the Lady Rams (0-1), led by first-year head coach Travis Donley, the game proved a learning experience for the team.
