Last year’s tourney disappointment sparks 2017 Wildcats Last fall, a sophomore-laden Kenton boys soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to Elida in the Wildcat program’s first-ever home sectional tournament game at Merold Field. That loss proved to be a pivotal point in the young Wildcats’ development as they used it as a rallying cry for a 2017 campaign that evolved into the best regular season in program history with 14 wins and a second place finish in the Western Buckeye League.
