With the game on the line after Ottawa-Glandorf cut a 25-point lead to just five points, Kenton’s offense came up with the big play when it needed to on Friday night. Clinging to the slim lead and facing a third-and-goal at the 12, Kenton quarterback Jaron Sharp lobbed a pass over the middle to Landon Rush, who was all alone in the end zone, for what would prove to be the game-winning touchdown as the Wildcats held on for a 35-30 win over the visiting Titans.

ADA — Trailing 16-15 to Paulding with just 6:47 to go in the game, Ada mounted a go-ahead touchdown drive to retake the lead at 22-16 with 3:29 to go. A pair of interceptions by the Bulldog defense sealed the Northwest Conference football win for the home team against the Panthers on Friday night.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley was shut out Friday night, losing 55-0 to Lehman Catholic in a Northwest Central Conference football match-up. The Rams fall to 3-5 on the season, 2-3 in the NWCC. The win lifts the Cavaliers to 7-1, 5-0.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s Aidan Loveridge racked up four touchdowns against Arcadia Friday night, running for 206 yards on 22 carries on his way to helping the Falcons to a 42-7 Blanchard Valley Conference football victory.

RIDGEWAY — Hardin Northern quarterback Owen Wetherill threw four touchdowns – three to Logan Lease – to help his team to a 54-24 football win at Ridgemont on Friday night.

COLUMBUS – A few uncharacteristically bad holes got Riverdale freshman Andrew Kuenzli in trouble on the first day of the Division III state golf tournament Friday at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course in Columbus. Kuenzli shot a 20-over 92 and was tied for 53rd place of 72 golfers after one round.

ST. PARIS — After jumping out to a 24-6 first-quarter lead over Graham, Benjamin Logan was able to cruise to a 46-26 Central Buckeye Conference football victory on Friday night. The win improves the Raiders’ record to 5-3 overall, 2-0 in the Mad River side of the CBC. Graham drops to 1-7, 0-3.

The Kenton boys soccer team did all it could to try and get at least a share of the Western Buckeye League title on Thursday night. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, Ottawa-Glandorf was unable to pull off an upset of Elida as Kenton will have to settle for second place in the WBL after its 4-0 win over Bath.

The Trophy Bassmasters competed in the next to last regular club tournament recently on Delaware Reservoir. This was originally scheduled as Alum Creek but was flip-flopped because the original Delaware tournament was scheduled for July 19 when the reservoir was nine feet high and closed to the public.

LARUE — Hardin Northern’s volleyball team clinched the outright Northwest Central Conference championship on Thursday, sweeping Elgin in three games 25-19, 25-22, 25-19. Senior Shelby Alloway led the way for the Polar Bears, recording team-highs of 12 kills on the attack and 8 digs defensively.
