Shelby Alloway had 9 kills and 9 digs and Rylie Bame added 15 kills and 3 solo blocks to lead the Polar Bears, who were playing a “Volley for the Cure’ match.

SPRINGFIELD — The Benjamin Logan volleyball team locked up its third straight outright Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division title on Thursday night with a 25-13, 25-8, 25-13 victory over host Springfield Northwestern.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Wapakoneta held off Riverdale 3-2 in a non-league girls soccer match on Thursday night. Gabi Rodriguez scored on a penalty kick and Reygan Frey tallied a goal off an assist from Haley Frey for the Falcons, who trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Sidney Plot netted a hat trick to lead the way as the Kenton girls soccer team defeated Marion Harding 9-2 on its Senior Night on Thursday. Kori Barrett, Hannah Holland and Jazmine Mendez all tallied two goals each for the Lady Wildcats, who improve to 5-5-3 on the season.

RAWSON — Chris Reyes and Noah Pinkney tallied goals as Ada edged Cory-Rawson 2-1 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association matchup on Thursday night. Nathan Allen added an assist for the Bulldogs, who improve to 9-4 on the season.

Four area boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Kenton Invitational 2017 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds on Thursday evening, led by Cymon Crowe of Kenton in the boys race and Juleigha Collier of Riverdale in the girls race.

MOUNT VICTORY — Three Ridgemont players finished in double digits for kills as the Gophers defeated Lime Temple Christian 25-14, 25-27, 25-21, 25-22 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Thursday. Sidney Richardson led the Gopher attack with 12 kills, while Cassidy Knapp and Shaylee McGrath chipped in with 10 spikes each.

ADA — Katie Butterfield had two goals and Haley Callahan added one as Ada defeated Delphos Jefferson 3-2 in a Northwest Conference girls soccer game on Wednesday. Ella Poling had an assist for the Bulldogs, who scored twice in the second half to take control of the game.

After getting a big lift with a hard-fought 35-27 win over Van Wert last Friday, the Kenton football team hopes to make it two in a row when the Wildcats host Shawnee in a homecoming matchup on Friday night. Both teams look to even their WBL marks as the Wildcats enter the game with a 2-4 overall slate and a 2-3 WBL record, while Shawnee is 3-3 and 2-3.

Riverdale goes after its second straight Blanchard Valley Conference win when it hosts McComb on Friday. Riverdale (4-2) rebounded from a 63-0 loss two weeks ago, by defeating Cory-Rawson 21-14 last Friday.
