ALLIANCE — The Ohio Northern football team dropped a 43-14 decision at No. 2-ranked Mount Union on Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium. The Polar Bears fall to 2-2 overall and are 1-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Purple Raiders improve to 4-0, 3-0.

DOLA — Hardin Northern swept a volleyball tri-match with Allen East and Cory-Rawson on Saturday. The Polar Bears, who improved to 13-3 on the season, defeated Allen East in three games 12-25, 25-15, 25-23.

BELLEFONTAINE — The host Ben Logan Middle School volleyball teams swept a tri-match with Indian Lake and Bellefontaine on Saturday. The seventh grade Lady Raiders beat Indian Lake 25-9, 25-16. Jillian Plikerd served 9 aces to lead the Raiders.

VAN WERT — Jaron Sharp literally willed the Kenton Wildcats to victory on Friday night. The junior signal caller put the Wildcats on his back, throwing for more than 300 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for another 208 yards and three more scores as the Wildcats topped Van Wert 35-27 to snap a two-game skid.

ADA — Helping to account for 30 of Ada’s points against Columbus Grove on Friday, Aaron Everhart led his team to a 37-0 shutout win on homecoming night. Three of Everhart’s four touchdowns came through the air on passes from Seth Conley, who also added a rushing touchdown late in the third quarter.

McGUFFEY — Holding a 6-0 halftime lead, the Upper Scioto Valley Rams ran into an offensive buzz saw in the second half. Perry scored 41 unanswered points to roll to a 41-6 Northwest Central Conference football victory on Friday night.

RAWSON — Riverdale made plenty of mistakes, but it also made enough plays to overcome them. Aidan Loveridge had 208 yards from scrimmage, and Alec Loveridge contributed to all three touchdowns in a 21-14 Falcons victory over Cory-Rawson.

SPRINGFIELD — Trailing 24-20 with less than a minute to go in the game and on the Northwestern 25-yard line, Benjamin Logan was running out of time to make something happen. But for the second time in the quarter, Raider quarterback Tanner Perkins threw for a touchdown of 20-plus yards, this time to Nolan Robson, giving his team the 28-24 win Friday night.

DOLA — Hardin Northern fell to Lehman Catholic 63-0 in a Northwest Central Conference football game Friday night.

RIDGEWAY — The Ridgemont Golden Gophers were handed a 70-13 defeat at the hands of Northwest Central Conference newcomer Elgin on Friday night. The Gophers remain winless on the season at 0-6 overall, 0-3 in the NWCC. Elgin climbs to 4-2, 1-2.
