GRANVILLE — The No. 19-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team won its sixth straight match as it swept Denison on Tuesday evening at Livingston Gymnasium in Granville. The Polar Bears improve to 15-3 overall, while the Big Red fall to 7-5.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan eighth grade football team tied Springfield Northwestern 24-24 on Tuesday. Alec Rodenberger had 4 touchdown receptions from Kameron Allen to lead the Raiders.

The Ada volleyball team faced a Kenton team on Monday night that Bulldog coach Melissa Gossard noted is “much better than the typical” Wildcat team of past years. But while the scores may have been a little tighter, the Bulldogs still were able to come out on top in three games as they brushed aside the Wildcats 25-20, 25-13, 25-21 in the battle of Hardin County rivals.

BELLEFONTAINE — Springfield Northwestern topped Ben Logan 5-1 in a boys soccer battle for first place in the Central Buckeye Conference’s Mad River Division on Monday night. Peter Kratz scored the lone goal for the Raiders off an assist from Dylan Welch.

DEFIANCE — Kenton got a pair of wins in singles action as the Lady Wildcats fell to Defiance 3-2 in Western Buckeye League girls tennis action on Monday afternoon.

WEST LIBERTY — Sammie Unger was fifth out of 106 runners to lead the Kenton High School girls cross country team to third place out of 13 teams at the Ohio Caverns Invitational on Saturday. Unger ran a time of 22:02 over the 3.1-mile course, finishing ahead of teammate Ki Ki Krohmer, who was 10th in a time of 22:39 and Callie Wright, who was 17th in 23:44.

The Ben Logan Middle School volleyball teams defeated Indian Lake on Monday night. The eighth grade Raiders won 25-18, 25-11.

DOLA — After cruising to a win in its the first game, Hardin Northern looked like it would have an easy time in its volleyball match against Kenton on Saturday. And while the Polar Bears were able to pull the match out in three games, it didn’t prove to be a cakewalk.

DEFIANCE — Kylie Krohmer scored when she deflected the ball into the net during a scrum off a corner kick in the second half to help lift the Kenton girls soccer team into a 1-1 tie with Defiance in Western Buckeye League action on Saturday.

LARUE — Hopewell-Loudon defeated Ben Logan in three sets 25-12, 25-27, 25-14 in the championship game of the Elgin Volleyball Classic on Saturday. The Raiders, who defeated Riverdale and North Union in two earlier matches, are now 13-3 on the season.
