ONU spikers win 6th straight

GRANVILLE — The No. 19-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team won its sixth straight match as it swept Denison on Tuesday evening at Livingston Gymnasium in Granville. The Polar Bears improve to 15-3 overall, while the Big Red fall to 7-5.

The Ada volleyball team faced a Kenton team on Monday night that Bulldog coach Melissa Gossard noted is “much better than the typical” Wildcat team of past years. But while the scores may have been a little tighter, the Bulldogs still were able to come out on top in three games as they brushed aside the Wildcats 25-20, 25-13, 25-21 in the battle of Hardin County rivals.

Unger leads Wildcat harriers at Ohio Caverns Invite

WEST LIBERTY — Sammie Unger was fifth out of 106 runners to lead the Kenton High School girls cross country team to third place out of 13 teams at the Ohio Caverns Invitational on Saturday. Unger ran a time of 22:02 over the 3.1-mile course, finishing ahead of teammate Ki Ki Krohmer, who was 10th in a time of 22:39 and Callie Wright, who was 17th in 23:44.
