Lady Raiders’ Manns high jumps to state

PIQUA — Ben Logan’s Madison Manns will be making the trip to Columbus next week to compete in the Division II state track and field meet. The Raider sophomore cleared 5-1 on her third attempt at the height to finish third in the high jump on the first day of Division II regional competition at Piqua on Thursday afternoon.

The second farm Reds beat the Dodgers 5-3 Thursday night. Leading batters for the Reds were Owen Frey who had a double and 2 singles, Oliver Sneary and Slade Taylor with 3 singles each, Keith Murphy and Raleigh Newman with 2 singles each and Malachi Blankenship and Lucas Klotz with one hit each.

Wildcats to put their 7 on 7 skills on display at national level

Over the past decade or so, the Kenton High School football team has become known for its dominance during summer 7 on 7 passing tournaments, bringing home trophies from different tournaments nationally. This summer, the Wildcats once again get a chance to test their skills against some of the nations’ best high school football programs when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 48-team 2017 Powerade 7 on 7 Invitational to be held July 13-15.

Polar Bear outing July 8

The Polar Bear Legacy golf outing – a four-person golf scramble – will be held on Saturday, July 8 at Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., and tee-off is at 8:30 a.m. with a shot gun start.
