A change in mindset and a more regular routine proved key for Austin Cline this season. Cline, a 2015 Ben Logan graduate, took off as a freshman pitcher for the University of Dayton once he adjusted to the college game and moved into the starting rotation.

About 30 youth going into grades sixth through eighth participated in the camp, learning drills and working on various events including the jumps, hurdles, pole vault, sprints, throws and distance events. Kenton High School track athletes also helped out at the camp, which was open to youth from throughout the county.

The registration deadline for playing in the fall Black Swamp travel soccer league for ages U8-U15 for the Hardin County Family YMCA is Saturday, June 25 at 4 p.m. Playing soccer is a way to keep your kids active and let them experience team sports.

FOREST — The 2016 Tree Town Festival to be held July 8-10 at Gormley Park in Forest will hold various athletic events for festival goers to participate in again this year. Events include the Tree Town Trot 5K, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a 4-on-4 volleyball tournament and a fishing derby.
