McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley picked up its first volleyball win of the season, sweeping Vanlue 25-11, 25-8, 18-17 on Wednesday night. The match was shortened due to potentially dangerous weather in the immediate area.

Bulldogs start well, beat USV volleyball

ADA — A night after suffering its first loss of the season, the Ada volleyball team wasted little time in asserting its authority against Upper Scioto Valley on Tuesday. The Bulldogs tallied 20 of the first 25 points of the match and overcame a Ram challenge in the middle game on the way to a 25-7, 25-23, 25-20 victory in the non-conference match of Hardin County rivals.

Gophers can’t close out W-G, lose in five

MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont was two points away from picking up a volleyball victory over Northwest Central Conference foe Waynesfield-Goshen a couple times Tuesday night. But the Tigers rallied and emerged with a come-from-behind 18-25, 25-27, 26-24, 25-18, 15-13 victory.

KHS earns first win

Kenton swept all three singles matches on the way a 4-1 win over Fostoria on Tuesday. Mykaela Schreiber beat Jessica Kaufman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Kelsey Flowers beat Kyra Bader 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Abby Hartshorn defeated Jenna Leigh-McCumber 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 match.

Bulldogs fall to Rams

ADA — Ada got a win from its top singles player Meredith Marshall, but was not able to pick up victories in any of the other four matches as the Bulldogs fell to Upper Sandusky 4-1 in girls tennis action on Tuesday. Marshall defeated the Rams’ Sara Gier in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
