SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan shot 388 on Friday at Windy Knoll in its first golf contest of the year, the Central Buckeye Conference preseason event.

Linda and Rodney Hensel are the winners of an Outstanding Beautification Award for June from Keep Hardin County Beautiful. The Hensels bought this property 35 years ago in 1980.

Dave Wedertz took the top spot in the Trophy Bassmasters recent tournament on the Detroit River in Michigan. Wedertz caught five bass, weighing 17.57 pounds, including the a 5.36-pound smallmouth that was the big bass of the day.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Sarah Hunter made an impact immediately when she joined the Bluffton University track and field team. Hunter, a 2014 Riverdale graduate, was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference womens track athlete of the week two of the first four weeks she competed in college.
