The Kenton High school football team beat Lexington Christian Academy in the finals to win the University of Kentucky seven-on-seven tournament this past weekend.

The Kenton High School cheerleaders will hold their annual mini cheer clinic for students entering grades K-8 from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1-4 at KHS. The cost of clinic is $25 and includes a T-shirt.

The Hardin Golf Foundation thanks those persons who made a donations in memory of LeRoy "Jack" Rogers. Jack spent many of his retirement hours at the course either working the counter or instructing novice golfers.

ORLANDO — Ada junior Melina Woods recently helped her club team place third in the AAU National Volleyball Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports. She and her teammates from Elite Volleyball Training Center in Plain City placed third out of 114 teams.

The Trophy Bassmasters held their eighth club tournament of the season this past weekend at Lake St. Clair in Michigan. Only seven members made the long journey north.

Riverdale boys soccer coach Jon Hayfield brought in a different voice to talk to his players for a team camp this week, Liam Henshaw. Henshaw, originally from Nottingham, England, is part of the Challenger British Soccer Camps, which bills itself as the most popular soccer camp in the country.
