SIDNEY — Hardin Northern scored the first nine runs and held on to defeat Lehman Catholic 15-8 in Northwest Central Conference softball Wednesday.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Riverdale softball was in position to get a key Blanchard Valley Conference victory that would have kept it atop the league standings. Then the sixth inning happened.

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore scored six times in the fourth inning and then held off Riverdale, 6-4, in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley won the boys portion of its home Ram Invitational track and field meet Tuesday. The Rams scored 138 points, 13 more than Riverdale in the seven-team event. Hardin Northern was sixth with 54 points.

McGUFFEY — Riverdale ran away with the girls title at the Ram Invitational track and field meet hosted by Upper Scioto Valley on Tuesday.

LIMA — Kenton defeated Shawnee 7-3 on Tuesday night in Western Buckeye League softball. Jenna Rodenberger, Molly Pees and Alivia Purtee all homered for the Wildcats (9-5, 3-2 WBL).

FINDLAY — Hardin Northern defeated Liberty-Benton 16-2 in nonconference softball action Tuesday.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan scored two runs in the bottom of the first and held on to beat Graham 3-2 in Central Buckeye Conference softball Tuesday.

LIMA — A four-run seventh inning turned a tied game into an 11-7 win for Upper Scioto Valley over Perry on Tuesday.

Kenton held a one-run lead over Western Buckeye League foe Shawnee until giving up six runs in the fifth inning, taking a 7-2 baseball loss on Tuesday.
