DAYTON — Kenton sophomore Lauren Johnson was feeling pretty good after a personal best throw of 114 feet, 1 inch on her second attempt of the discus finals moved her into fourth place during Division II regional competition in Dayton on Thursday.

WAVERLY, Iowa — Terrill Webb climbed to All-America status Thursday afternoon. The coach who works closely with her believes the Bluffton University pole vaulter has another level to reach.

DAYTON — Ben Logan’s Coreen Crosby qualified for the state track meet in the high jump during the first day of Division II regional competition in Dayton on Thursday. The Raider junior finished third in the event with a leap of 5 feet, 1 inch.

LEXINGTON — Just one-tenth of a second. That’s all that separated the Benjamin Logan boys 1,600-meter relay team from a chance in the regional final run on Saturday. It was a disappointing day all around for the Ben Logan boys runners at Day 1 of the Division II regional meet in Lexington on Thursday.

Ben Logan put four girls on the all-Central Buckeye Conference softball first team. The Raiders tied for second in the Mad River Division with an 11-5 record.

The Major Indians defeated the Mariners 15-1 on Thursday night. For the Indians, Gunnar Stout pitched four innings, striking out 10, Ace Baum pitched one inning and retired the side with 3 strikeouts and Jaron Willoby closed it out striking out one.

TIFFIN — Madi Weber helped turn things around for the Riverdale girls in Wednesday’s Division III, Region 8 track and field preliminary races.

TIFFIN — Ridgemont senior Daniel Johnson was stuck waiting and hoping Wednesday night at the Division III Region 10 track and field meet in Tiffin.

FOREST — Larry Johnson has met a lot of athletes, coaches and athletic directors and been to a lot of different stadiums throughout northwest Ohio during 31 years as an Ohio High School Athletic Association track and field official.

DOLA — Most schools that qualified track and field athletes for the Division III Region 10 meet began competition Wednesday night.
