SIDNEY — Lehman Catholic outscored Hardin Northern by 12 in the first quarter and went on to a 66-43 Northwest Central Conference boys basketball victory Friday. The Cavaliers led 20-8 after the first quarter, 32-21 at halftime and 54-32 after three quarters.

Raider rally falls short versus Lakers

LEWISTOWN — After being held to 27 points through the first three quarters, Ben Logan scored 25 in the final period, but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders lost to Indian Lake 66-52. Ben Logan trailed 49-27 heading into the fourth quarter and outscored Indian Lake by eight in the final period.

Rams can’t come back after slow start

LINCOLNVIEW — Lincolnview dominated Upper Scioto Valley in the first quarter Friday and cruised from there to a 67-27 nonconference boys basketball victory. The Lancers led 15-2 after the first quarter, 38-12 at halftime and 51-19 after three quarters.

CELINA — Kenton got off to a slow start Thursday night in its girls basketball Western Buckeye League opener. But the Wildcats rallied and it took a miraculous shot to beat them as Celina won 29-26. Kenton (2-2, 0-1 WBL) trailed 10-3 after the first quarter and 19-10 at halftime.

DOLA — A poor stretch to start the second half cost Hardin Northern in a 41-32 girls basketball loss to Sidney Lehman Catholic on Thursday night. The Polar Bears (2-3) trailed 18-15 at halftime of their Northwest Central Conference opener, but were outscored 19-8 over the first 13 minutes of the second half.

Turnovers doom Gophers in road loss

BOTKINS — Ridgemont struggled with too many turnovers Thursday night in a 65-24 girls basketball loss to Botkins. The Gophers (2-2) were led by Shaylee McGrath, who had six points and four rebounds.

Ben Logan girls get handed first defeat

SPRINGFIELD — Ben Logan lost its first girls basketball game of the season Wednesday night, falling 66-58 to Kenton Ridge. The two teams were tied at 45 entering the fourth quarter, but Kenton Ridge outscored the Raiders 21-13 over the final eight minutes.

Raider bowlers stay unbeaten

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan defeated Riverside in boys bowling Wednesday night. The Raiders rolled to a 2,609-1,946 victory to remain unbeaten this season. Ben Logan has been in three matches so far this season, topping four teams.
