VAN WERT — It was a perfect night for one football team at Van Wert's Eggers Stadium on Friday night. Unfortunately for Kenton fans it came at the Wildcats’ expense as the host Cougars controlled every aspect of the game in scoring 31 first-half points on the way to a 38-0 Western Buckeye League victory.

ADA — Ada forced eight turnovers and made a game-changing goal line stand late in the third quarter to help propel the hometown Bulldogs to a 19-7 victory over Columbus Grove in a gritty Northwest Conference clash Friday night. The Bulldogs end a modest two-game losing streak and improve to 3-2 for the season and 1-2 in the conference.

Riverdale falls short of first win, topped by Arlington

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Five games into the season, Riverdale continues an agonizing search for its first win after falling 28-19 in a tightly contested matchup against Arlington on Friday night at Baum Field. The Falcons (0-5, 0-3 Blanchard Valley Conference) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to stop the big play by the Red Devils (4-1, 3-0 BVC), who showed their flash with a special teams touchdown and two offensive touchdowns that came on gains of 30 yards or more.

Outmatched Gophers fall at home

RIDGEWAY — An outmatched Ridgemont squad could not keep pace with visiting Riverside on Friday night, falling 60-6 to its Northwest Central Conference rivals. The loss is the Golden Gophers’ fourth straight, putting them at 1-4 on the season and 0-2 in the NWCC.

WAYNESFIELD — Upper Scioto Valley opened up an lead against Waynesfield-Goshen in the first quarter and didn’t look back, taking the 42-12 Northwest Central Conference win on Friday night. The Rams improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the NWCC.

Fort Loramie grounds out 17-0 victory against Polar Bears

FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie ran for 271 yards on the way to a 17-0 victory over Hardin Northern in a Northwest Central Conference football game on Friday night. The host Polar Bears managed just 17 yards rushing on 20 attempts as they fall to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in NWCC play.
