After winning the Western Buckeye League tournament last fall and advancing to the district tournament, and with three All-WBL seniors returning to lead the way, the Kenton golf team was billed as one of the league favorites entering the 2015 season. So far the Wildcats have done just about everything they can do to live up to the hype by winning eight of the nine league matches (losing only to Shawnee by one stroke).

MANSFIELD — Kenton used a different line-up Tuesday in its 3-2 girls tennis victory over Mansfield Senior. The Wildcats (13-5) swept the singles matches to earn the team win.

BELLEFONTAINE — After dropping the first game, Ben Logan rallied to defeat Urbana in Central Buckeye Conference volleyball Tuesday. The Raiders (6-6, 4-1 CBC) won 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

LIMA — Kenton was defeated by Shawnee 6-1 in Western Buckeye League girls soccer Tuesday. Kelsey Erwin scored for Kenton on a penalty kick.

SPENCERVILLE — Ada swept Spencerville in Northwest Conference volleyball Tuesday. The Bulldogs (11-1, 3-0 NWC) won 25-11, 25-7, 25-15.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The two winners of the Hardin County cross country meet got to the finish line first in different ways Monday afternoon. Riverdale’s Antonio Renteria took the lead early and maintained it throughout the race to win the boys title.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale defeated Ontario 4-1 in boys soccer Monday night. The Falcons (4-2-3) opened the scoring 12:41 into the game when Justin Riegle scored off an assist from Ethan Melroy.

VAN WERT — Kenton picked up its first Western Buckeye League boys soccer win of the season Monday, topping Van Wert 2-0. Luis Villa opened the scoring with seven minutes left in the half when he converted off an assist from Dustin Edler.

MARION — Kenton won its 12th girls tennis match of the year Monday, defeating Marion Pleasant 3-2.

LIMA — Ada swept Bath in girls tennis Monday behind a dominant performance from Mackenzie Wills at first singles. Wills defeated Kylee Morris 6-0, 6-0.
