TIFFIN — The Riverdale 4 by 800 relay team will be making a trip to Columbus for the second straight spring. The Falcons’ 3,200-meter quartet of Kyle Evans, Josh Hunter, Joe Lauck and Chad Pever ran in the top two the entire race during the Division III Tiffin regional meet on Wednesday as they circled the track eight times in a school record 8:08.06 to finish second.

TIFFIN — Brittany Holbrook didn’t waste any time punching her ticket to next week’s state track meet. The Upper Scioto Valley senior, who is competing in four events at this week’s Division III regional track meet in Tiffin, started off the competition on Wednesday by winning the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 4 inches.

The annual Dola, Dunkirk, Hardin Northern community golf outing will be held Saturday, June 20 at Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton.

The Major league Indians defeated the Reds 11-7. Ace Baum started for the Indians striking out 12 and Jaron Willoby picked up the save striking out four.

Upcoming events at the course are: May 30, the Kenton golf team hosts its fundraiser outing. This outing has a scramble format and you can sign up at the golf course.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley will have nine athletes in 10 different events as today’s Division III regional track and field competition begins in Tiffin. While it will be the first time competing for a chance to try to get to next week’s state meet for some, several Rams enter the meet well aware of what they will be facing.

RIDGEWAY — Ridgemont is sending a pair of freshmen in Sidney Richardson and Meadow Cromer to the Division III regional track and field meet, which begins tonight in Tiffin. In addition to being talented, the Gopher pair has a secret weapon they use before their events.

FINDLAY — Upper Scioto Valley’s Brittany Holbrook won the district track meet in two events as a junior. On Saturday at the Division III meet at Liberty-Benton, she doubled that total, finishing first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and the long jump to add to her first-place effort in the high jump on Thursday.

BOWLING GREEN — Day 2 of the Division II Northwest District tennis tournament did not go the way Kenton senior Dale Oates hoped it would. Oates lost both his matches Saturday to finish fourth in the district.

ST. PARIS — The Ben Logan boys track team advanced to the regional meet in three relays and two individual events on the way to a second-place finish in the team standings at the Division II district meet at Graham High School.
