Kenton wins sectional opener

The Kenton baseball team jumped on top of Elida early on, scoring in each of the first three innings, including four runs in the second on the way to an 8-3 Division II sectional win over Elida on Saturday at Kenton.

Falcon rally falls short in sectional

BLUFFTON — Leaving runners on base almost will always hurt a team. It was no different for Riverdale, but the timing couldn’t have been worse as the Falcons left six runners on base in a 3-2 loss to Bluffton in a Division III sectional semifinal baseball game Saturday.

Hornets rally by Ridgemont

RAWSON — Cory-Rawson took the lead after scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held on to defeat Ridgemont 5-4 in a Division IV district baseball game on Saturday.

Raiders defeat Versailles, 5-3

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan scored early and played error-free defense Saturday to beat Versailles 5-3 in nonconference softball. The Raiders scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and plated three in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead.

Goodin brothers seek WBL championship

The tennis season didn’t get off to a great start for Kenton brothers Troy and Kyle Goodin. The pair were teamed together as the first doubles team for the Wildcats and Kyle, a sophomore, wasn’t sure he liked that idea.
