MOUNT BLANCHARD — In the bottom of the fourth inning Monday night, Riverdale seemed to be in fine position in a key Blanchard Valley Conference softball game.

CELINA — Kenton defeated Celina in its final Western Buckeye League tennis match of the season Monday.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan scored seven runs in the bottom of the first to take control Monday in a 10-0 win over Northwestern in Central Buckeye Conference baseball.

WAYNESFIELD — Upper Scioto Valley scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally past Waynesfield-Goshen 3-2 in a Northwest Central Conference baseball game on Monday.

BELLEFONTAINE — Ten errors were costly for the Ben Logan softball team as the Lady Raiders fell to Springfield Northwestern in a Central Buckeye Conference game on Monday afternoon.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren scored two runs in the top of the first Monday and cruised from there to a 13-1 five-inning Blanchard Valley Conference baseball victory over Riverdale.

Celina scored five runs in the third inning and added seven more in the sixth on the way to a 12-5 victory over Kenton in a Western Buckeye League baseball game on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats fall to 10-8 on the season and 1-7 in WBL play.

The Kenton baseball team opens sectional tournament play at home on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats will host Elida in the sectional semifinals at 2 p.m.

No area schools received a top two seed in the district softball pairings released on Sunday. Hardin Northern was the top-seeded area team after receiving a No. 4 seed for the Division IV Kenton district. The Polar Bears will host Arcadia in a sectional final game at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 14.

MORRAL — The Riverdale baseball team split a twinbill with Ridgedale on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 in the first game before rebounding to win game two 5-1. Leading 2-1 going into the top of the seventh of game two, the Falcons scored three runs to put the contest out of reach.
