Kenton Athletic Director Mike Leddy gave an upbeat report on the district’s sports programs at Monday’s school board meeting. He said there are 233 student athletes at the high school, with 55 of those playing in multiple sports. There are 123 student athletes at the middle school.

DOLA — Hardin Northern handed out winter sports awards on Thursday night.

Kenton Little League is currently registering players for the 2015 season, with tryouts slated for Saturday at the Kenton Middle School. As is the case most years, there are several things that have changed in Kenton Little League this year, including the implementation of online registration and a change in the age groups.

HERSHEY, Pa. — Ohio Northern senior Cody Lovejoy had a disappointing end to his collegiate wrestling career Friday. The top-seeded heavyweight went 1-2 at the 2015 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships to fall short of being an All-American for the second straight year.

COLUMBUS — Ada senior Austin Windle followed the same script on Thursday as he did last year on the first day of the Division III state wrestling tournament. He suffered a disappointing loss in the first round and then bounced back.

Ada’s Tori Wyss was selected to the first team on the All-Northwest District Division IV girls basketball teams released on Thursday.

The Black team defeated the White team by four points on the final night of Masonic Pool Tournament play Thursday.

The Kenton boys tennis team held its second outdoor practice of the season Wednesday afternoon.
