The Kenton Middle School fall sports awards night will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 in the KMS auditorium.

LIMA — The Lima Symphony Orchestra will be taking the new program, “Symphony Storytime-Drums for Everyone” to the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main St., on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. This will be the premiere performance of this program in Hardin County for 2019-2020 season.

The Kenton football team suffered its first Western Buckeye league setback of the season to St. Marys in a heartbreaking fashion last week. Even so, the Wildcats will have to recover quickly this week as they still have all their goals ahead of them – including a chance to stay in the WBL race – when they travel to Van Wert on Friday night.

The Riverdale football team looks to get back above .500 when it meets Liberty-Benton, one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the Blanchard Valley Conference, on Friday night. The Falcons (3-3) suffered a heartbreaking setback last Friday against Arcadia as they rallied from a two-touchdown deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game before Arcadia kicked a late field goal to secure a 38-35 win.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Callie Sudlow had two goals and Hanna Breidenbach added a pair of assists as Riverdale topped Van Buren 3-0 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association matchup on Wednesday. The Falcons, who led 2-0 at halftime, also received a goal from Haley Frey.

BELLEFONTAINE — Bellefontaine defeated Ben Logan 2-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference cross division matchup on Wednesday. The Raiders finish the season with a 5-7-4 record.

LIMA — Ada swept Perry in three sets 25-13, 25-19, 25-12 in a non-league volleyball match on Wednesday. Megan Light had a big game at the net for the Bulldogs, accumulating 14 kills and 5 blocks.

The Hardin County Family YMCA will be holding two fun runs for runners/walkers of all ages as part of Saturday’s Little Pumpkin Fest in Kenton. The runs will have a fall/Halloween themes to both runs and will be fun for all who participate.

Kenton High School senior soccer player Gabe Spears has never scored a goal in a varsity match. In fact, he has not seen any varsity action during the last three years as a member of the Wildcat soccer team, Even so, the Wildcat coaches and players will tell you Spears is the type of player every team needs.

The Kenton girls soccer team defeated Elida 4-0 in its regular season finale on Tuesday night. The Wildcats got a pair of goals from Hannah Holland in the game and one from Sidney Plott. They also scored on an own goal.
