DOLA — Hardin Northern defeated Ridgemont in four games 25-21, 25-22, 10-25, 27-25 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball matchup on Tuesday night. On the verge of dropping two straight sets after going up 2-0, trailing 24-18, the Polar Bears took seven-straight points to go up 25-24 before eventually capturing the 27-25 set win.

Ben Logan spikers clinch share of CBC

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ben Logan volleyball team clinched at least a share of the Central Buckeye Conference’s Mad River Division title with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-15 victory over Graham on Tuesday night. The Raiders improve to 15-6 overall and are 8-1 in league play with a one game lead over North Union with one CBC match remaining.

VAN WERT — The Kenton Middle School football team defeated Van Wert 20-12 on Tuesday. Korbin Johnston had two touchdown passes and Brayden Prater and Trenton Delong were on the receiving end of those touchdown passes to lead the Wildcats. Grady Kleman added a rushing touchdown.

Kenton, Hardin Northern among top 8 in computer rankings

Kenton and Hardin Northern are both among the top eight teams in their respective divisions in the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s official weekly football computer rankings. The Wildcats (4-2 on the season) are ranked No, 7 in the Division IV Region 16, while Hardin Northern (4-2) is ranked No. 8 in Division VII Region 29.

ADA — Lincolnview defeated Ada 25-20, 25-16, 25-12 in a Northwest Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night. Megan Light led the Bulldog attack with 12 kills, 10 digs and 2 blocks and Miranda Wills added 6 kills, 9 digs and 3 aces.

McGUFFEY — Kenton defeated Upper Scioto Valley 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 in a non-league volleyball match on Monday night. It was the second time in three days the Wildcats topped the Rams as they also beat them in two of three games at Ridgemont on Saturday.

Area teams to go on road for volleyball sectionals

The Kenton volleyball team will have to travel for its sectional tournament opener. While the No. 14-seeded Wildcats drew a bye in the first round of play, they will either have to play No. 2 Norwalk or No. 13 Clear Fork in the sectional championship round at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. The match will be held at the sight of the higher seed.
