MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale scored all three of its goals in the first half in a 3-3 tie with Swanton in girls soccer action on Monday night. Lexi Miller, Payton Rodriguez and Haley Frey netted goals for the Falcons. Stella Phillips had an assist.

BELLEFONTAINE — Northwestern defeated Ben Logan 2-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference boys soccer matchup on Monday night. The Raiders fall to 5-6-4.

RIDGEWAY — Host Ridgemont defeated Upper Scioto Valley and Kenton before losing its final match Ridgedale to finish second at the second annual Keegan McKee Memorial volleyball tournament on Saturday.

RAWSON — Hardin Northern swept Cory-Rawson and Allen East in a tri-match on Saturday.

CELINA — The Kenton seventh volleyball team won its first two matches before falling in the championship match of the Western Buckeye league tournament on Saturday.

Friday’s Kenton-St. Marys football game had plenty of big plays by both teams. But in the end, it was Roughrider senior Ty Howell who made the biggest play as the defensive back intercepted a pass by Kenton quarterback Blaine Huston in the end zone with 15 seconds left in the game to preserve a 39-34 St. Marys victory.

Holding a slim 6-point lead over Ridgemont at halftime, the Upper Scioto Valley Rams came out firing in the second half. The USV offense turned two Ridgemont interceptions into touchdowns in the third quarter, and it added two more scores in the fourth quarter to earn the 42-14 football victory Frida

The Hardin Northern Polar Bears outscored Riverside 21-0 in the second half to overcome a 14-7 halftime deficit, earning the 28-14 football victory on Friday night. The Polar Bears improve their record to 4-2 overall with a mark of 2-1 in the Northwest Central Conference. The Pirates fall to 2-4, 1-2.

Despite having several victories in the early rounds, the Kenton High School girls tennis team ended its season at the sectional tournament on Friday at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Winning matches for the Wildcats in the first round were first singles Mykaela Schriber, third singles Grace Collins, and first doubles Kayce Sherman and Aaliyah Rogers.

Tied at 35 with Riverdale in the fourth quarter, Arcadia’s kicker converted a 19-yard field goal, putting the Redskins in front and handing the Falcons the 38-35 loss on their homecoming night on Friday. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-3 overall, 2-2 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Arcadia improves 3-3, 2-1.
