ADA — Coldwater defeated Ada 25-10, 26-24, 25-15 in a non-league volleyball matchup on Thursday night. Megan Light led the Bulldogs attack with nine kills and 2 blocks. She also added seven digs defensively.

LIMA — Bath defeated the Kenton girls tennis team 4-1 in a Western Buckeye league opening match on Thursday. Playing at No. 3 singles, Grace Collins was the only Kenton Wildcat to win a match on the afternoon as she bested Bath’s Lexi White 6-2, 6-0.

Kenton senior Hannah Holland has been known for her goal scoring ability after putting the ball in the net 18 times in each of the past two years for the Lady Wildcat soccer team. The Wildcat senior showed she is more than just a one dimensional player on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite hitting the post three times in the first half, the Kenton Wildcat boys soccer team carried a 2-0 lead into halftime at home against the Ada Bulldogs on Wednesday night. The Wildcats kept up the pressure into the second half and it eventually paid off, adding the third and fourth insurance goals to take the 4-0 victory, winning the 309 Cup and moving to 3-0 on the young season.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Elida’s Brooke Reese scored the game-winning goal with 1:16 left in the game to lift the visiting Bulldogs to a 3-2 win over Riverdale in a non-league girls soccer contest on Wednesday night. Trailing 2-0 30 minutes into the game, the Falcons received a goal from Callie Sudlow with seven minutes left in the first half before tying the game on a Haley Frey tally with 15:13 left in the game.

The Kenton High School boys golf team improved 24 shots from Monday, but fell short to Liberty-Benton 162-180 in a dual match at Memorial Park Golf Course on Wednesday. Ethan Wirble shot a season-best 39 to lead the Wildcats. Carson James followed with a 45, followed by Trey Jeffries and Luke Hites, who both carded 48s.

LIMA — Lima Central Catholic defeated Kenton 5-0 in a non-league girls tennis matchup on Wednesday. The Wildcats won one game in each of the three singles matches as Olivia Kesner topped Mykaela Schriber 6-0, 6-1, Morgan Cheney defeated Lily Osborn 6-0, 6-1 and Paige Brinkman bettered Grace Collins 6-1, 6-0.

Elgin defeated Kenton 232-254 in a high school girls golf matchup on Wednesday at Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton. Eden Cronley led the way for the Wildcats with a 57.

ADA — The Ada Bulldogs captured a 3-0 volleyball victory over Cory-Rawson on Wednesday evening by scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-12. Leading the way for the Bulldogs (2-1) was Megan Light who recorded 15 kills, two blocks and 12 digs. Kendal Guagenti served up six aces and scooped out 14 digs. Miranda Wills had nine kills and eight digs.
