Bulldogs blasted by L’view

ADA — Lincolnview scored in all five innings it batted, including 12 runs in the top of the fourth inning in blasting Ada 23-1 in a Northwest Conference baseball game on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs, who scored their lone run in the second inning, were held to four hits in the game as Dylan East, Connor Frazier, Josh Morgan and Noah Garmon all had singles. Frazier had an RBI.

Five winners in Shoot the Moon

The Tuesday Afternoon Shoot the Moon Club met May 7 at the Elks with  members enjoying lunch. Winners were  Judy Sallee, Joyce Hunt, Pam Miller, Mary Lou Healy and Shari Longbrake. Next game day will be May 21. Anyone interested in playing, please contact Dee Park at 419-674-6468.

Kenton tennis team finishes its season at sectional tournament

LIMA — The Kenton tennis team finished its season during the opening day of the Division II sectional tournament at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Taj Chahal, Rylee Messenger and Cameron Zickafoose all went 1-1 in singles play while the doubles teams of Ian Lyons/Rocco Longbrake and Landon Rush/Hayden Robinson were 0-1 in opening round matches.

HN boys off to a solid start at NWCC meet

WAYNESFIELD — After one day of competition Thursday, the Hardin Northern boys sit in second place, six points behind leader Waynesfield-Goshen, at the Northwest Central Conference track and field meet. Waynesfield leads the standings with 38 points, followed by Hardin Northern with 31. Upper Scioto Valley is sixth with 13 points, while Ridgemont sits in ninth with 1 point.

Lady Gophers wrap up regular season with ‘W’

RIDGEWAY — Ridgemont took control with five runs in the second inning and added four more in the third on the way to an 11-1 victory over Waynesfield-Goshen in a Northwest Central Conference softball game on Wednesday. The Gophers, who improve to 12-8 on the season and 4-3 in the NWCC, received two RBIs each from Emma Smith, Hannah Shoffner and Kylie Turner.

Eight-run sixth inning lifts Raiders by Chiefs

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan scored eight runs in the sixth inning on the way to a 12-4 victory over Bellefontaine in a Central Buckeye Conference cross-divisional baseball game on Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fourth inning. After they plated eight in the top of the sixth, Bellefontaine scored three runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Perry gets past USV, 5-2

McGUFFEY — Perry defeated Upper Scioto Valley 5-2 in a Northwest Central Conference softball game on Wednesday afternoon. The Commodores took a 2-1 lead after one inning and led 3-2 after three innings before adding a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh.
