Summer swimming program set in Ada Posted on June 2, 2015 0 ADA — The summer swimming program is being offered July 6-10 and July 13-17 at the Ada Municipal Swimming Pool. Registration for the classes will be accepted by June 22. There is a $3 cost per person for the classes, which are limited to 25 participants per level. Level one is designed to teach students underwater breathing, independent front and back floats and introduces swimming strokes and skills. Level two includes back and front kicks, introduces new strokes and skills and refined the front crawl. The third level works on stroke refinements, back and front crawl strokes and introduces new strokes and skills while increasing distance and endurance. Level four offers stroke refinements, breast, back, elementary back, side, butterfly with increased distance and endurance. The swimming classes are for children who will be five years or older by July 6. Adults are also welcome to sign up for lessons. Water Safety Instructor Sandra Neely said she is looking for assistance both in the water and on the deck. Persons must be 12 years or older and includes adults. Participants need not have previous swimming ability to assist, she said. A training session for those helpers is set for June 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. with the location to be announced later.
