Fair board announces 2016 honorees

The Hardin County Fair honorees for 2016 were announced at the Hardin County Agricultural Society meeting on Saturday night. Mary Lou Haley and Annetta Holmes were chosen for the recognition, announced Craig Stump from the board’s Executive Committee. They worked in the home economics department at the fair for many years before retiring after the 2015 fair.

Kenton mayor: Letson Avenue project could impact fair

The reconstruction of Letson Avenue in Kenton has the potential of impacting the Hardin County Fair this fall. Mayor Randy Manns reported to council Monday it would be “challenging” to have the road completed prior to the fair’s opening in September. Letson Avenue is the street that runs in front of the fairgrounds between Ohio 31 and U.S. 68 on the city’s south side.

Tickets available for Veterans Day at the fair

The Hardin County Fair will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with opening day being Veterans Day. The flag raising will begin at 1 p.m. and the opening ceremony will start shortly thereafter. Online junior fair entries top 2,500

More than 2,500 junior fair online entries were submitted by 810 exhibitors by the July 31 deadline, it was reported at the Hardin County Agricultural Society meeting on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the fairgrounds. There are still some missing entries and those exhibitors who didn't get their online entries made are encouraged to contact their 4-H advisor.
