The Hardin Northern class of 1968 held its 50th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the home of Ron and Gay Preston in Powell. There were 19 classmates and two teachers attending the event.

The Kenton Band Boosters met on Monday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. in the high school media center. Attendees were Judy Donnal, president; Sarah Zickafoose, vice president; Amy Kohl, secretary; Katie Ketcham, treasurer; Travis Wissman, band director; Tomi Cheney, flag advisor; and parents/volunteers Marge Cannode, Wanda Horner, Teresa Horton, Kathy Forester and Darla Lowe. Donnal called the meeting to order.

The Kenton Lions club met Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Henry’s Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. There were 15 members and two guests were in attendance. Lion President Todd Oates led in the Pledge and the prayer. The meeting was called to order after the meal at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 22 Weight Watchers – 9:15 a.m., Bellefontaine Union Station, 613 Hamilton St. Weigh-in starts 1/2 hour earlier. Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Intl. – 10 a.m. at White Shutter Brewery and Winery of Nevada to tour and have a wine tasting.

Homecoming week is Sept. 24-29 at Kenton High School. Students and staff are working hard to create a spectacular week of fun for the students and community. There will be the annual spirit week, pep rally and a new tradition of the door decorating contest.

FINDLAY — Families of boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to Family Fun Day at Camp Berry on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families can enjoy hiking, fishing, archery, and arts and crafts; launching model rockets, shooting BB guns; rowing boats; playing carnival games; and climbing a 50-foot tower.

DUNKIRK — The movie "Book Club" will be shown at the Hardin Northern Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 26 starting at 7 p.m. The movie starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Burgen & Mary Steenburgen is rated PG-13.

The Hardin County Democratic Party met on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at their new headquarters located at 128 N. Detroit St., Kenton. The grand opening and ribbon cutting was followed by a carry-in meal at 6 p.m.

Kenton Garden Club met Monday, Sept. 17 at the First United Methodist Church parking lot to travel to Marysville for lunch at Bennie’s and a program at the Scheiderer’s Farm Nursery. Eleven members were present. After an enjoyable lunch, the group drove out to the nursery. Candy, the owner, gave us a presentation on preparing the containers.

The Ada Senior Citizens will be travel to Dietsch Brothers Dessert Shop at 400 West Main Cross Street in Findlay on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The group will gather in the parking lot at the Ada Community Health Professionals.
