Pair of Kenton youth qualify for grade school state wrestling tourney

A pair of Kenton youngsters qualified for the Grade School State Tournament as the Kenton Youth wrestling team placed fourth at the OAC Troy District Tournament on Saturday. Qualifying for the state tournament in Youngstown on March 24 were Tim Wilkinson, who was first in the Division 4, 180-pound weight class with a 3-0 record that included two pins and a technical fall.

The Ben Logan cheer squad qualified for the Ohio Cheer Competition on Sunday in Division IV building at the Southwest regionals. This will be the fifth consecutive year Benjamin Logan cheer qualified for the state competition but the first year in the building division and as a co-ed team.

Foreman enjoys helping people through United Way

Darlene Foreman was hesitant at first to take over the responsibility of executive director for United Way of Hardin County, but it has since become “the best job I’ve ever had.” Before Darlene had become involved with the United Way, her husband, Dan, a Honda employee, was approached by Dave Sturgeon who offered him a place on the board.
