Gabe Heilman, 14, of rural Kenton, will be headed to Memphis, Tenn., later this month to compete in the IHRA Junior Dragster World Finals. Heilman, an eighth grader at Kenton Middle School, will be competing against 99 other junior dragster racers for a chance at the world championship.

Bluffton tops KHS tennis

BLUFFTON — Kenton received one win in both singles and doubles play as Bluffton edged the Wildcats 3-2 in a girls tennis match on Monday afternoon. Winning in singles action for the Wildcats was Mykaela Schriber in the No. 1 match.

Ada girls soccer rallies past Lincolnview

ADA — Four different players scored as Ada defeated Lincolnview 4-3 in a Northwest Conference girls soccer matchup on Monday night. Alivia Okuly, Bella East, Gizem Tanriverdi and Katie Butterfield each scored goals for the Bulldogs, whole trailed 3-1 in the first half before rallying to tie the game by halftime.

Flowers has Lady ‘Cats top finish at WBL tourney

The Kenton girls tennis team had two players place in the top seven and the Wildcats finished ninth in the Western Buckeye League tournament on Saturday. Kelsey Flowers finished fifth in the third singles bracket, while Mykaela Schriber was seventh at first singles.
