Polar Bears sweep W-G

DOLA — Hardin Northern got stronger as the match went on as the Polar Bears swept Waynesfield-Goshen 26-24, 25-13, 25-6 in a Northwest Central Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night. Kennedy Hall served up four aces and had 15 assists and 4 kills to lead the Polar Bears. She paced HN defensively with 4 digs.

BL golfers miss district berth on tiebreaker

SPRINGFIELD — The Ben Logan boys golf team finished their season in heartbreaking fashion Tuesday, tying for the fourth place in the team standings, but losing out on a chance for the district meet in a scorecard tiebreaker. Kenton Ridge won the sectional at Reid Park with a 333, followed by Graham with a 341. Greenview with a 359 and Miami East and Ben Logan at 370.

Falcons remain unbeaten

FORT JENNINGS — Tyler Hart and Mitchell O’ Flaherty netted two goals each to lead Riverdale to a 6-0 boys soccer win over Fort Jennings on Tuesday. Logan Frey and Coby Miller added goals for the Falcons, who led 4-0 at halftime. Jevin Martin had an assist.

Widmark paces BL girls

NORTH LEWISBURG — The Ben Logan girls cross country team was third of 11 teams with 69 points at the Triad Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. Winning the meet was Tecumseh with a score of 24 points. The Raiders were led by sophomore Dani Widmark, who covered the 3.1 mile course in a season’s best time of 20:38. She placed second in a field of 52 runners. Winning the meet was Kylee Mastin from Tecumseh in a time of 19:41

LCC blasts Bulldogs

LIMA — Lima Central Catholic swept Ada in three sets 25-19, 25-22, 25-14 in a non-league volleyball match on Tuesday night. Megan Light led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, 11 digs and 6 blocks.

Area girls compete in DII golf sectional

CELINA — Ridgemont’s Sarah Bash and Hannah Shoffner played in the Division II Girls Golf Sectional held at Celina Lynx Golf Course on Tuesday. Shoffner shot a 105 with two pars to finish 31st of 59 golfers, while Bash finished with a 122 with one par and tied for 50th.

Ada loses to Bluffton

ADA — Bluffton defeated Ada 3-0 in a Northwest Conference boys soccer match on Tuesday. Grant Preston had 8 saves for the Bulldogs, who had a seven-game winning streak snapped and fall to 7-3-1 on the season.
