NEW WASHINGTON — Brady Hipsher was first in the 1,600 run in a time of 4:56.08 and the 800 run (2:07.00) at the Buckeye Central Stache Dach on Friday. The Rams senior was second in the long jump with a leap of 18-6.

After falling behind early, Kenton scored four runs in both the second and third innings on the way to a 12-4 victory over Upper Scioto Valley in a non-league baseball game on Thursday afternoon. USV scored three runs in the top of the first inning, including two that crossed the plate on a double by Wayne Lowery, to jump ahead early.

Ridgemont rallied from an early two-run deficit to defeat Kenton 6-2 in a non-league softball game on Thursday afternoon. After the Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in bottom of the first inning on a two-run double by Chloe Musser, Ridgemont tied the game with two runs in the top of the third before taking the lead with three runs in the fourth.

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley scored four or more runs in four of the six innings it batted on the way to a 21-11 softball victory over Lima Senior on Thursday. The Rams, who took advantage of nine Lima Senior errors in the game, led 4-0 after one inning, 5-0 after two frames and 10-2 after three. After the Spartans tallied four runs in the fourth to get within 10-6, both teams had four tallies in the fifth before USV plated seven runs in the sixth to put the game away.

DOLA — Hardin Northern took the lead for good with a three-run fourth inning in a 6-3 victory over North Baltimore in a non-league baseball game on Thursday. After falling behind 2-1 after one inning, the Polar Bears got within one with a run in the bottom of the second inning.

DELPHOS — Delphos Jefferson’s bats came alive in the late innings as the Wildcats defeated Ada 12-2 in a Northwest Conference baseball game on Thursday. Zach Swaney and Austin Amburgey had two hits to lead the Bulldogs, who led 1-0 after the top of the first inning.

DOLA — North Baltimore used a pair of four-run innings to pull away for a 10-1 softball win over Hardin Northern in non-league softball action on Thursday afternoon. The Polar Bears, who scored their run in the fourth inning, received an RBI single from Peyton Pore.

The Kenton Middle School seventh grade baseball team scored eight runs in the fifth inning on the way to an 11-7 win over Ridgedale on Thursday. Luke Leffler had an inside the park home run, a single and four RBIs to lead the Wildcats.

The Kenton High School girls soccer team put on a clinic for youth in grades K-6 this past weekend. The KHS coaches and soccer players instructed students on fundamental drills of the game.

RIDGEWAY — Olivia Lawrence had a three-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to lift Allen East to a 10-7 victory over Ridgemont in non-league softball action on Wednesday. Allen East tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh inning.
