The Honda Marysville Auto Plant was evacuated Wednesday for a reported bomb threat.

Multiple sources report the automaker received a credible threat and ordered the evacuation.

In a statement, Honda said, “Earlier today, Honda security learned of a potential threat to associate safety at our Marysville Auto Plant. As a precaution, we have made the decision to evacuate and dismiss associates beginning at 11:30 a.m.”

“The safety and security of all associates is a top priority, so Honda moved quickly to assure safety.

“Honda has notified law enforcement officials and they are on site and fully investigating.”

“At this time no additional information can be shared.”

A written communication was found on site claiming a bomb would go off inside the 144-acre plant.

A Columbus bomb squad was called in to help investigate.

There are around 4,200 associates who work at the auto plant.
