In the end, the Hardin County Commissioner’s race was decided by just two votes.

The board of elections met today starting at 2 p.m. and at 4:45 p.m. announced the results of the tally. Officially Roger Crowe had 4,805 or 42.59 percent of the votes. Bob Carder tallied 4,803 or 42.58 percent. Third candidate James Bostater gathered 1,673 or 14.83 percent of the final count.

An automatic recount will be ordred by the board since the final numbers were within the .5 percent difference. That process will begin in five days after Monday’s results, said Chairman Rob Radway.

More information on the race will be published in Tuesday’s Kenton Times.
